Position Summary:

Responsible for providing the assistance to the physician which allows patient care to be delivered in an accurate and timely manner.


Principle Duties & Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  1. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  2. Photographer will perform a variey of duties including but not limited to, OCT's, Fluorescein and ICG angiography (including IV infectons). Coler Fundus and Auto Fluorescence photos. Certifying for studies, patient related car. Cross train with technicians for patient intake for EMR.
  3. Inventory and maintain instrments and equipment in accordance with OSHA standards.
  4. Invevtory and medical supplies needs.
  5. Help ensure that equipment is cleaned and disinfected in an appropriate manner, battery powered instruments are seated properly in recharge wells, slit lamps and projectors are switched off and or under covers. Assist with maintenance of clinical examination equipment.
  6. Follow all safety procedures as per protocol guidelines.


Other Functions:

  1. Coordinate, communicate effectively with and assist other departments.
  2. Provided other patient services as requested.
  3. Perform other duties as assigned.


Job Location/ Working Conditions:

  1. Physician office wherever located requiring travel both in own vehicle and company sponsored van.
  2. Flexible hours.
  3. Very busy office, high patient volume


Qualifications Required:

  1. High school diploma; previous ophthalmic experience or formal training program is desirable or completion of on-the-job training upon hiring. Outstanding interpersonal skills as well as a neat and professional appearance. Must have a working knowledge of computer use.



  1. Position requires a great deal on initiative and flexibility to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  2. Must be congenial at all times.
  3. Must be able to communicate with physicians, patients, co-workers and supervisors.
  4. Must be willing to help in all areas and understand the need for efficient use of time.
  5. Skills will be evaluated annually.


Special Requirements:

  1. Good hearing and visual acuity are required, as is the ability to assist in lifting patients from wheelchairs to examination chairs or assisting onto stretcher. May be required to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to move about the offfice quickly with frequent stooping and bending.
